Jobes Henderson provided engineering design and agency coordination for the construction plans of a new roadway in Licking County, Ohio. This project is funded by the Ohio Department of Development Job Ready Site (JRS) grant and will serve to open up access to several more corporate development sites in Etna Corporate Park.
The Etna Parkway project completed all the site developments for the Licking County Etna Parkway JRS. This project required site development, utilities, and roadway design to create a site for future development use. The extension of Etna Parkway consists of the approximately 14,000 ft. to connect State Route 16 (Broad Street) and U.S. 40 (National Road), improving the routing to Interstate 70 and offering access for commerce to the approximately 300 acres of development property. JHA will be completing utility extensions, traffic studies, and improvements to SR 16 and Refugee Rd as part of this project. The JRS grant received by Licking County for this project is approximately $3.4 million.
Included within this project is 14,000 feet of 16” waterline that will run parallel to the new roadway and provide water service to over 1,200 acres of industrial development. The new waterline will begin at a 1.0 million gallon tower and extend northward across Refugee Road where it will tie into an existing 10” waterline, and on to Broad Street where it will terminate at an existing 12” waterline.
JHA developed the project from the early planning stages, helped to secure funding, developed alternatives, prepared construction documents, and bid the project and oversaw the project during construction providing full time inspections for several phases.
JHA provided the following services to the County during construction of the roadway and utilities:
Assisted the County in monitoring and determining the accuracy, completeness and potential issues associated with contractors’ schedules
Assisted The County in the change order process by providing independent estimates and review of contractor cost proposals
Assisted with the review of contractor invoices
Assisted with the project closeout to assure that change orders and final contract sums have been resolved in a complete and accurate manner
Provided monthly schedule update reviews and report recommendations
Participated in meetings involving scheduling, change orders and associated cost impacts with contractors
Worked with the County staff to track schedule and cost during construction
“Everyone that I have dealt with at Jobes Henderson has always had a good attitude, been helpful in getting things done, and always goes the extra mile.”
